Reading pp.282-283 of SOME SORT OF GENIUS: A Life of Wyndham Lewis (2001) by Paul O'Keeffe, the description of Lewis's face/skin, personality, and his private lodgings in London was so exactly like the face, personality, and lodgings of Garrett Deane (mentor of Carolyn Dean and I) in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, that I realized Lewis had faked his death and moved to Nova Scotia in 1957. I had met Lewis twice in the 1930s when I was 14 and 15 via my father, but never saw him again. Now I realize CAROLYN AND I HAD SPENT 25 YEARS WITH WYNDHAM LEWIS!!!!!!!!!
