iON | The Platonic Dialogue Called “Ion”

Transcribed by Bert.

[September 27,2014 Part 2 (18:43 mark)]

Bob: Now iON, I brought up the fact of the Platonic dialogue called “Ion” – and, it generally tries to show that the divine communication, or the inspired drunk-on-something Non-Physical communicator - that it is not real poetry. Would you address the Platonic debate called “Ion”, and do you have something to say about that? Are you correcting that? Are you poetry?

iON: Uh, no! We’re not poetic! We don’t write poetry! We’re not poetic! We don’t want to be poetic! We don’t want to be known as “iambic pentameter”! We want to be a half of a… of a… of a dodecahedron.

Bob: A half of one?

iON: Yeah, because two dodecahedrons is more clever than by half.

Bob: You don’t want to be clever.

iON: Correct! Too clever by half, isn’t clever at all - but see… if we go all of the way, you don’t get us. If we go all of the way, you don’t get us! You barely get us now, and it’s like hitting the ball and drag Harry, sometimes. So, we have to dumb it down - so you can catch on - and we put little pieces of dough out there for a little bird to pick up the dough. And we’re trying not to be glib because we’re not that way, and it’s not about that. We’re just saying: “We’re just trying to get you back to God”.
