1987 Letter From Nixon to Trump Predicted Trump Win

Thirty years ago, Pat Nixon caught Donald Trump on Phil Donahue’s TV show and she was so impressed with what she saw that her husband, the former president, went out of his way to write the young tycoon a note.

President Trump has told friends he plans to hang in the Oval Office a personal letter written to him in 1987 by former President Richard Nixon that predicted he would win political office.

Trump showed off the letter in an interview with Fox News. In the interview, he said Nixon “always wanted me to run for office.” The president-elect remains close with the Nixon family — Nixon’s grandson Christopher Nixon Cox was reportedly a guest at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate for Thanksgiving and was a short-lister for ambassador to China.

Former Nixon adviser Roger Stone, who has a tattoo of the ex-president’s face etched on his back, is also a longtime friend and adviser to Trump.
