When Myke Dyer met Bob in June, 1987, he was confused as to who Bob was. So he wrote Rev. Ivan Stang, scribe of the Church of the SubGenius in Dallas, asking if the Reverend knew anything about this strange person who claimed to have “inspired" the Church of the SubGenius.
Myke had been having Bob as a guest on CKLN-FM since June 17, 1987.
Bob was so charismatic that Myke was losing his "raison d’'être” for participation in the Canadian counterculture.
Myke reached out to his latest “hero”, Rev. Stang, culturally speaking, and Stang’s scrawlings on the letter indicate that an interesting “underground war” had fired its first rounds.
SkyGoddess Sue visits Garrett Deane in Autumn, 1987, and is shown through many rooms containing artifacts - including the Buddha statue - left over from Garrett’s life as a fake antique dealer (he refused to sell any of the contents of his store to many of his famous customers) in Midtown Manhattan near Radio City Music Hall in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Garrett was also employed as an actor many times since the 30s. Garrett ran a salon at his place of “business” entertaining the likes of Marlon Brando, Paris Flammonde, and Eva Le Gallienne.
Garrett’s legendary sturdy and dependable wood stove that hosted hundreds of dinners since the late 60s.
