Roxana: I wanted to ask iON about Cymatics - the study of how sound affects matter - but we know that sound, also, creates matter. I would like to know the way in which sound creates matter.
iON: OK, the reverberation does not go out void. So, therefore, if sound does not go out void, then it is.
Roxana: And, it is like in this piece of Pauline Oliveros we were talking about with Bob. She uses a range of frequencies that are out of the hearing range - like very high and very low.
iON: Stop before you go that far. If you compare the transient verb and the noun, here’s what ends up happening - sound is transmitted - a vibration. Vibration travels through air or any other medium and it reaches the ear of a God - that creates matter. Convey a specific impression if heard: “He sounded worried”. Now, when you go a little bit further, then you are going to go to mechanical radiant energy. This is by a longitudinal pressure wave. Now when you arrive there - once those vibrations land - that’s how matter is created.
Roxana: Is all matter created like that - through waves?
iON: Yes, everything within 20 to 20,000 Hertz. All sounds in the range of 20 to 20,000 hertz create matter. Everything else does not.
Caller 2: And, a God has to hear it.
iON: Correct, or it will be lingering.
Caller 2: If you say it to yourself, it still gets created?
iON: If you are a God, it does.
Roxana: Are all types of sounds creating, or are only words?
iON: No, all sounds that are heard by God, do.
