Joe Keogh to Marshall McLuhan | 20 August 1968

When I went to the National Archives in June, 2017, I got to look at the boxes of McLuhan correspondence.

I eventually realized Joe Keogh, a former student of McLuhan, had the biggest file of letters to McLuhan, next to McLuhan's mother, I think.

Keogh was McLuhan's assistant in the late 50s and early 60s and helped collect, organize, and edit the bibliography of THE GUTENBERG GALAXY on the tables of St. Michael's College library.

I met Joe Keogh in the 70s and he proved the most creative McLuhanite, conversationally. I will be posting a lot of his correspondence over the next while so you can see the extraordinary qualities of his mind and philological imagination.
